I was born and raised in Alabama and never believed I would see the day an event such as this could or would take place there. I checked out your website but didn't see any place for donations. I know the permit process, possible security needs, rental fees, etc. will begin to add up. I'd love to make a donation to help with these costs or, in the alternative, support local businesses that are donating services. Please let us Alabamians who make our homes in other places help out with this historic occasion. Perhaps a short GoFundMe campaign or a list of businesses from which you could use gift cards?
Thank you so much for your suggestion! We are trying to work out the best way to do this. I am not sure if we will be able to accept cash, but we could certainly put gift cards to good use. We are trying to nail down some additional details but once we know what we need and what our options are, I will update the site.
I am an ER doctor and Director of 2 EDs in North Alabama. Assuming my insurance coverage is good, i would like to know if there is any way for me to help?
Hi Tom-meka! I do not believe that we are in need of a medical doctor, but if you would like to assist with the event, you can get more info on how to volunteer here:
Im a stylist at Elleven Salon just down the street from the event. If I can be of assistance I'd love to participate. Please contact me at the salon at 256-489-4247 or mcenterbar@gmail,com as soon as possible o confirm my availability. Thanks, Matthew Centerbar
I'll stop by Monday morning to with a few things to touch up hair before photography. Electricity would be necessary for full out styling, but I'm happy to help out however I can.
Unity Church on the Mountain would like to offer their sanctuary as an optional ceremony space. We are less than 2 miles from the downtown area. The address is 1328 Governors Drive. From the Courthouse Square, go south on Madison Street, left on Governors, past California Street. Look for the digital overhead "SPEED LIMIT" sign (~4/10 mile) and turn right into Unity Church on the Mountain's driveway. Rev. Carol Landry (ordained minister) can be reached at 256-519-2957 or Lucy Roberts at unitychurchweddings@gmail.com. Please call ahead with as much advance notice as possible or if you know you would like to use the space just make an appointment ahead of time. Congratulations to those planning to marry next week!

ReplyDeleteHi Matthew,
DeleteThank you so much! We would love to have a stylist available. Unfortunately we don't have any electricity at the event. Would that work for you?
